"Sir Yipsalot and the Mutt" is an episode that premiered on January 14, 2015 with "7 Frogs" on Disney XD.[2]

It is the fortieth episode in the series.

Synopsis[]

Sir Yipsalot and a look-alike stray dog lead the 7D on a wild chase of mistaken identity throughout Jollywood.

Plot[]

Sir Yipsalot is on his morning Royal Dog Walk with Starchy and then spots a squirrel. He wants to chase it, but Starchy won't let him and says that royal dogs don't do such things. The dog walk then gets interrupted by the arrival of the Strognaoff Circus rolling into town. The ringmaster Herr Stroganoff presents to the crowd including the 7D in attendance the Von Flea family, a family trope of circus fleas. Another dog, which looks like Sir Yipsalot, chases the same squirrel that Sir Yipsalot spotted earlier towards the wagon and bumps the table containing the fleas, and the fleas fall into the lookalike's body.

Sir Yipsalot leaves Starchy behind, joining in the wild chase. The two dogs that chased the squirrel run into the mud and then bumped into a barrel; Sir Yipsalot's crown and the lookalike's blue cap switched places in the air, sending one towards the other. Sir Yipsalot continues to chase the squirrel, while Starchy mistook the lookalike for the royal dog and takes her home for a bath. At dinner Queen Delightful, also not knowing that the dog isn't Sir Yipsalot, begins to notice the looklike ate all the food rapidly, yaps instead of yipping, and itches, because she still carries the Von Flea family. The Queen uses the Bing-Bong Bell to call the 7D. Doc reveals to Delightful her dog isn't Sir Yipsalot—she's female, as he uncovered some of her fur to show her her eyes and the fact that she yaps.

While the 7D search for Sir Yipsalot at the village, meanwhile, Stroganoff dons a cat suit as a trap for the dog. He successfully got a hold of Sir Yipsalot and search for the fleas on the giant magnifying glass. The 7D arrives with the lookalike and the fleas returned to the circus. As gratitude, Stroganoff invited the 7D, Delightful, Sir Yipsalot and Starchy to the event, and Stroganoff welcomes the lookalike into his circus after she does a few tricks, and is named Princess Yapsalot. The 7D believes that Sir Yipsalot wants to have fun and behave like normal dogs instead of being pampered, and Delightful agrees. In the end, the 7D are enjoying their picnic while Sir Yipsalot and Delightful chase a squirrel together and went into the itchweed bushes.

Running Gags[]

  • Herr Stroganoff searching for his flees.
  • Grumpy mentions that he needs salve the next time he has an itch, leading to an conversation among the gang that goes way off-topic. This happens again at the end of the episode when Delightful and Sir Yipsalot go into itchweed bushes.

Continuity[]

  • An episode that calls back to this one is "Say Pest to the Dress", where Queen Delightful and Sir Yipsalot are seen digging the castle's courtyard.
