"The Long, Long Winter" is an episode that premiered on July 7, 2014 with "Itsy Bitsy Spider Fighters" on Disney XD.[2] It was available on Watch Disney XD before it aired. This is the series premiere for the series and it is the first episode in the series.
Synopsis[]
The 7D rescue the villagers of Jollywood from an eternal winter spell that the Glooms have cast on the kingdom.[3]
Plot[]
The episode begins with Queen Delightful trying to reassure her shivering subjects that the will soon come to an end as she states that momentarily, Jollywood Joe the Spring Chicken will stand upon the castle and end the winter with his clucks. But when Starchbottom blows the summoning horn, he doesn't appear. Saddened by her disappointed subjects, the Queen returns to her throne, pondering over why Joe hasn't appeared. Then all of a sudden, the Glooms appear. They tell Queen Delightful they're the reason this winter won't end and that if Joe doesn't cluck before sunrise, the winter will last forever, thereby forcing the queen to abandon her castle and allowing the Glooms to take over. Not about to give in, the Queen summons the 7D and tells them about what Glooms and have done (and also about all their air kissing that disgusts Grumpy) and sends them to Mount Jollywood. Thanks to Happy's harmonic playing (which annoys Grumpy) The 7D quickly get to Joe's roost, but don't see him anywhere. However, a bunch chicken feed in the ground left by him reveals he has been captured by the Glooms! Luckily, one of the many items Doc came prepared with was the
chicken detector (which originally tracked squirrels). With it, The 7D find the lair where Joe is being held while frozen. The 7D are able to get Joe out, but their cover gets blown when Grumpy yells about their annoying air kissing. And thus, The 7D sled down the mountain with Joe in tow and start thawing him with coffee. Unfortunately, the Glooms aren't far behind and Hildy is able to break their sled apart, separating the seven dwarfs with Dopey holding Joe. Dopey is able to sled on to the castle, thanks to Sneezy and Grumpy beaning the Glooms with snowballs. Dopey is able to launch Joe to the roof of the castle as the sun rises. Joe gives out a small cluck, and winter instantly ends. Joe and The 7D are greeted by cheers of the townspeople while the thwarted Glooms sit at home with broken arms and legs and the episode ends.
