Synopsis

When Grim borrows Hildy’s duplicating wand, he accidentally creates a Hildy clone.[3]

Plot

The 7D are mining for 77 nightlight stones, which are needed at Queen Delightful's castle in case when candles go out because Lord Starchbottom is still afraid of the dark. Meanwhile, at The Glooms' manor, a gigantic box was delivered to Hildy , which inside is a single duplicating wand. Her new plan to take over Jollywood is by creating a duplicate of herself, but since it is time for her to go to bed, she locked up the wand and instructed Grim not to touch it. After she went upstairs, Grim is playing fort with the box with Peaches, but needed a "watchtower"—he then unlocked the safe where the duplicating wand is inside with the help of the warthog. Grim tried at first to make another box with the wand with no success; he then find a switch to turn it on. With such great force, the duplicating spell ricochet towards upstairs to the Glooms' bedroom, where it duplicated a sleeping Hildy. The duplicate overhears the original Hildy, who sleep-talks about conquering Jollywood, so the duplicate leaves the house and told Grim that she will now go on with her plan (though Grim does not realize that it was the duplicate and not the real Hildy).

At dawn, the real Hildy picked up her newspaper with the moving headline that she suddenly took over Jollywood and becoming queen. She became very excited, and told Grim to come along to claim the castle. Back at the mine, the 7D completed the mining of the nightlight stones, only to be called by the Bing-Bong Bell shortly. They arrived at the castle with the stones—where they faced the duplicate Hildy, who is now queen! The duplicate then banished them into the dungeon, where they noticed Queen Delightful, and Starchbottom, who is relieved at the sight of the Nightlight Stones. The real Hildy and Grim later arrived at the castle, and Hildy is shocked to see a duplicate of herself as Queen of Jollywood. Grim then confessed to his wife that he used the duplicating wand without her knowing, which made her furious. Duplicate Hildy then send the Glooms into the dungeon as well. After Grim took a large amount of time explaining about what happened, the reluctant Glooms are persuaded by the 7D to work together to stop the duplicate, with an added "winky swear" by Sleepy that the real Hildy will not become queen.

The 7D, the Glooms, Delightful and Starchbottom all climbed out of the dungeon and went to the Throne Room to taunt duplicate Hildy. While Grim briefly returned home to retrieve the duplicating wand only to find Peaches had used it to make duplicates of herself, the enraged duplicate then magically summoned the stone gargoyles on her throne to come to life to fight them. After a lengthy chase, the gargoyles with duplicate Hildy in tow have them surrounded. Grim arrived with the duplicating wand and used a spell to make duplicate Hildy disappear, but instead he created another duplicate of her! Hildy instructed Grim to give her the wand, which she then snapped it in half, and the duplicates are finally gone. The real Hildy crowned herself queen, breaking the winky swear she had agreed on earlier. Sleepy reminded that bad things will happen to people who break winky swears; the gargoyles who are devoid of duplicate Hildy as their master began to chase the Glooms away with Hildy leaving the crown behind. At night, everything is back to normal with Queen Delightful back at her throne with the nightlight stones lighting up the castle.

Trivia

  • "Which Witch Is Which?" is also the title of a Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? episode from its first season and The Fairly OddParents!, from its third season.
  • This episode reveals that whistling as a language exists, which explains why Queen Delightful and the 7D can understand what Dopey says through his whistles. Also, Grumpy can also whistle in a similar matter to Dopey's, but it shocks everyone around him because his whistles are presumably foul.
  • The beginning shows the dwarfs mining in the same fashion as in the beginning of Heigh-Ho.
  • Moral: Do not manipulate any object that belongs to an another person, without any permission.
